STOP YOUR SNAPPING HIP WITH PROLO!

Snapping Hip Syndrome also known as Coxa Saltans  is a condition that is characterized by a snapping, popping or clicking sensation in or around the hip when it is in motion. It is an overuse injury with a higher rate of occurrence in activities such as dancing, running, soccer and gymnastics that involve repetitive hip flexion and extension. This condition occurs most commonly in patients between 15-40 years of age, affecting females more than males. This condition can often also predispose the patient to hip bursitis.
CAUSES

The most common cause of Snapping hip syndrome  is the Iliotibial band (or “IT band”) snapping over the greater trochanter of the femur. The Iliopsoas tendon snapping over a bony prominence of the pelvis is the second cause. The least common cause is a tear of the cartilage and/or loose body within the hip joint that may also cause the hip to “lock up”.

HOW PROLO CAN HELP YOUR SNAPPING HIP!

Although cortisone injections and anti-inflammatory medication do provide short term pain relief, both options result in long-term loss of function and increased chronic pain. These treatment options actually inhibit the healing process of soft tissues and accelerate cartilage degeneration. PROLOTHERAPY is a regenerative injection therapy that stimulates healing and repair within damaged soft tissue structures. Prolo is a better treatment alternative because it strengthens the hip ligaments, creating stability within the joint.

Prolotherapy to the posterior hip capsule and ischiofemoral ligaments generally resolves the problem of Snapping ITB or gluteal muscles because posterior hip laxity is involved in these conditions .Prolotherapy to the anterior iliofemoral hip ligaments tighten the joint and stop anterior hip protrusion.

Physiotherapy works to stretch, strengthen and align the joint and associated soft tissue structures to create balance and stability within the hip.
Ozone
Ozone injections have the amazing property to stimulate healing and repair within the joint to regenerate joint cartilage and can be seen as an alternative to joint replacement.

Prolo gives Foot Pain the Boot!

PROLO GIVES FOOT
PAIN THE BOOT!

Foot conditions resulting in pain can be a disabling ordeal, especially when options of surgery and cortisone end unsuccessfully. Prolotherapy offers an alternative that is natural, without side-effects and that provides long lasting results. To read Prolo’s success in treating Morton’s Neuroma click here.

COMMON FOOT CONDITIONS THAT PROLO CAN HELP HEAL

Metatarsalgia is an overuse injury characterised with pain on the ball of the foot.
Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome is a condition where the Tibial Nerve is pinched resulting in pain along the  ankle, heel, arch of foot and toes.
Plantar Fasciitis  is a condition involving pain and inflammation of a thick band of tissue ,called  the plantar fascia, that runs on the botttom of your foot. It is the most common cause of heel pain.
Heel spurs can occur  often as a result of Plantar Fasciitis  and can be very painful.
Morton’s Neuroma is a benign growth of nerve tissue which occurs in the digital nerve in the foot, often  between the 3rd and 4th toes.It is characterized by burning, pain and numbness in the toes.
* Flatfeet or fallen arches is a condition where the arch on the inside of the foot is flat ,causing the sole of  the foot to rest on the ground. This can place added strain on the hip knee and back ,especially if patients participate in high impact sport.

PROLO TO HELP YOUR FOOT

Prolotherapy is an injection therapy used to stimulate a healing process in injured connective tissues such as tendons and ligaments. Many of the conditions causing foot pain stem from ligament or joint instability.Prolotherapy aims to stimulate the body to heal the injured foot ligaments and ultimately to strengthen the weakened ligaments.By restoring stability and strength in the joint, Prolotherapy also reduces the degenerative processes in the joint.

Physio Corner
Physiotherapy assists in management of foot pain and instability by first treating pain and swelling with myofascial release, massage, mobilization and electro-therapy modalities. The second base of treatment is rehabilitation focusing on improving range of motion, strengthening musculature and improving balance and joint proprioception.
Ozone
Prolozone is a connective tissue injection therapy of collagen producing substances and ozone gas which can reconstruct damaged or weakened connective tissue in and around joints. This works well to treat Plantar fasciitis

How Prolo can mend the unstable ankle!

Written by Regenerative Health on . Posted in Treatment Discussions

HOW PROLO CAN MEND THE UNSTABLE ANKLE

Chronic ankle instability is a condition that presents when there is obvious ankle pain, recurrent ankle sprains, either decreased or excessive joint range of motion, sensation of giving way in ankle and constant or intermittent swelling.Untreated or incorrectly treated ankle sprains can often progress to ankle instability, particularly if hyper-mobility is also present. Ankle instability can predispose one to cartilage deterioration  and ultimately degenerative arthritis.

WHAT OTHER TREATMENT OPTIONS THERE ARE AND WHY THEY OFTEN MAY NOT WORK!

* While anti-inflammatories may be beneficial in acute cases, with chronic ankle instability-they pose the risk of impairing healing and predisposing joint degeneration.
* Cortisone injections can cause further degeneration of weakened structures, prolong painful symptoms and inhibit healing.
* An Ankle fusion can be a very painful procedure often with much restriction in mobility and long rehabilitation time periods.
*Joint replacement is very invasive, and patients can still  experience pain following this procedure.

HOW PROLO CAN HELP THE UNSTABLE ANKLE

Prolotherapy works most successfully to treat conditions where there is instability.Prolotherapy injections into the ankle work to create an inflammatory response in the ligaments which in turn stimulates healing and repair  in the soft tissue. The ligament produced after prolo is stronger and thicker and ultimately more stable. This makes Prolo the ideal tool to treat ankle instability.

Research done by Caring medical evaluating Prolo treatments on patients with ankle instability showed amazing results, concluding 90% of participants experienced 50% or more pain relief with improvements in their range of motion and functional mobility as well. Considering how invasive and potentially hazardous the other treatment options are for ankle instability, we hope more patients opt for the natural, safer answer of Prolotherapy.
